Consultant - Interim-Director Position

CONSULTING ROLE: The selected consultant(s) will be asked to work closely with the Hope Station’s board and staff to: 1) Conduct a thorough operations analysis of Hope Station and create a corresponding work plan for the board’s review and approval; 2) Identify urgent issues or challenges facing Hope Station while balancing a healthy respect for its history, mission and past and present contributing partners; 3) Solicit the input of community members, neighborhood residents, key partners and funders to ensure that many voices are represented and respected during the consultant’s explorations and conversations; 4) Oversee Hope Station’s finances and explore its financial obligations and any contractual commitments; 5) Monitor program operations and the fulfillment of committed program deliverables; 6) Attend to normal board needs and help the board keep pace with its transition and executive director search duties; 7) Help the board clarify its vision and future leadership needs; 8) Assist with the orientation of the new permanent executive director.
Proposal Requirements & Contact Information
Proposals need not be lengthy and should be seven pages or less (excluding biographies and references). Please include the following components:
1. Qualifications: Individual and/or firm profile, length of time engaged in community work, and examples of recent relevant projects. A summary explaining why you/your group is well qualified for this project.
2. Biographies for key individual(s) leading the project.
3. Approach: Description of the consultant’s interest in this project and proposed approach to complete the work described herein.

b. What are your proposed steps for approaching and performing the role of Interim Executive Director? What project management methods will you use? How might you approach working with Hope Station’s board and staff team?
c. How will your approach engage diverse voices and constituencies?
d. How will the principles of dignity, equity and inclusion be incorporated into your strategic planning process?
e. How will your final report and recommendations represent a platform that positions Hope Station for the hiring of a successful permanent Executive Director?
4. Timeline: Confirmation of the individual’s or firm’s availability to begin the project in accordance with the proposed schedule (see below), noting any additional project activities, if desired.
5. Budget: Please submit a simple budget and/or budget narrative confirming use of funds and average consulting hours per week or month to be dedicated to the interim role.
6. Three References: Include name, affiliation/relationship, address and phone number.
