Summer Scholarships
Data highlights that Cumberland County’s youth need opportunities to get involved in the community and avoid engaging in negative behaviors. Youth can regress up to 2 months in their reading abilities over the summer, which can create a reading gap by 9th grade and limit their success in school. Hope Station’s Summer Scholarship Program awards families in the Carlisle area funding so that they can enroll their children in summer camps or programming.

Bridge to Hope Mentorship Program
Bridge to HOPE (Helping Others Pursue Excellence) empowers and uplifts Black and Brown adults by fostering supportive relationships that enhance personal growth, professional development, and community engagement. By connecting mentors with mentees from similar cultural backgrounds, we seek to create a nurturing environment where individuals can thrive and achieve their fullest potential.
The program is open to Black and Brown adults (18+) in Cumberland County who seek support in achieving a personal or professional development goal. The goal can be anywhere from opening a business to learning how to better manage their time. The program is here to assist individuals of all ages, stages, and abilities to grow in a way that feels meaningful to them.
Bridge to HOPE takes place twice a year and runs for 5 months for each cohort of mentors and mentees. Mentors and mentees attend monthly workshops and meet a minimum of one time between workshops. All workshops include food and childcare.
