Summer Scholarships
Data highlights that Cumberland County’s youth need opportunities to get involved in the community and avoid engaging in negative behaviors. Youth can regress up to 2 months in their reading abilities over the summer, which can create a reading gap by 9th grade and limit their success in school. Hope Station’s Summer Scholarship Program awards families in the Carlisle area funding so that they can enroll their children in summer camps or programming.

Juneteenth Celebration
Hope Station hosts several celebration events in Cumberland County to celebrate, a day to gather to commemorate a significant moment in history. Juneteenth, also known as Freedom Day or Emancipation Day symbolizes freedom and liberation for millions of African Americans.

Cumberland Countywide Black Economic Study
Hope Station has embarked on a groundbreaking initiative to assess the economic landscape and social determinants of health for the Black community in Cumberland County. By unveiling hidden disparities and providing a clear picture of the economic and social challenges faced by Black residents, this study serves as a powerful tool in addressing systemic racism and promoting equity. Hope Station's initiative represents a crucial step towards creating a more just and inclusive community, where data-driven insights lead to meaningful, lasting change.

Bridge to Hope Mentorship Program
Bridge to HOPE (Helping Others Pursue Excellence) is Hope Station’s flagship workshop and training initiative designed to empower Black and Brown individuals and families through culturally responsive education, practical resources, and community-driven learning experiences. Through workshops, training series, career clinics, and town halls, participants gain tools to address systemic inequities in health, wealth, education, environmental justice, and civic engagement. From generational wealth building and legacy planning to gardening, entrepreneurship, and leadership development, Bridge to HOPE equips individuals to pursue personal and professional goals, strengthen their families, and build lasting generational success.

Awards Ceremony
Held each November, our Awards Ceremony is a time when we honor our community members for their community service in the Cumberland County area. Each year we also give out the Jim Washington Award & our Youth Leadership Award for high school students.

This seres will explore the power of real sestat’s as a wealth-building tool, offering practical steps to help individuals and families secure their financial future. First time homebuyers will be given one on one assistance on what vouchers, grants, and other financial assistance are available, along with application guidance.
